• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

What Photo Editor do you use - or do you use more than 1?
If Other, Please comment!

GIMP all the way.

I would make more use of Inkscape if it wasn't for the UI.

PS CS6. Cost me $1000.00 USD when I bought it. Best $1000.00 I have paid out, as well as for Max 2014. :) Photoshop Rocks! I havent even tapped into what all it can do yet.

Photoshop CS4 with Camera RAW and Nik plugins for photos straight from the DSLR. Oh, I use it to edit bitmaps for FS developing too... Like Bill I consider it money really well spent, although like Max, my licence is secondhand. Couldn't afford new when I got either and it's not an option for either now!

I use Blender's procedural texturing a lot and then bake textures from that.
I also involve basic modeling which gets me normal maps and AO.

you have to sell a lot of sceneries and models to pay for Max' $5K/yr license. LOL.

I do use Photoshop under subscription, but for some things I still use an old favourite or mine, Micrographx Picture Publisher:) This started out as a good alternative to Photoshop for Windows, but lost out a long time ago. It's 32 bit, which means that it won't handle big images, but I find it does a couple of niche things better than photoshop -- mainly masking, but this might be more because I've used it for so long I just find it easier. And it has a 'lighting' wizard, which I use to add night lighting to 3D textures -- although on my big screen these days the tiny little window is becoming increasingly difficult for my aging eyes...
It handles Photoshop files, so I can move texture images between the two without issues.
I started using Picture Publisher back when I had a digital print shop, which was 25 years ago, so I'm surprised it still works. Back then we did have Photoshop on a Mac, but I preferred the PC. The whole idea of the print centre back then was to offer an alternative to the snobby Mac shops, which wouldn't take my Windows Postscript files -- unless I copied them to a Mac disc, in which case they wouldn't notice the difference. Things have changed a lot since those days, that's for sure.

Don't laugh - Ulead PhotoImpact 4.2. I got it free with a scanner many years ago and never bothered to use anything else. The scanner's long gone, too. I use Gimp for some things (like radial blur).

Thanks to everyone that has taken the time with this poll,... for those that haven't you still have time to do so!
