Activating or re-activating FSX

Windows 7 users especially have reported problems activating FSX, or re-activating it after a hardware change. Here is Microsoft's own answer:-

Go to the FSX folder and right click on FSX.exe, choose Properties and uncheck the Run in Compatibility Mode box.
