• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Not Seeing this, why? BTW Happy Veteran's Day to everyone..go eat some free food...i might lol

When you load the original FS9 model into MCX, do the props rotate using the animation slider? If so look in the animation list and you'll probably see that they have been assigned an "engine(x)" tag ( x being a number). Select that part and assign a "prop(x)" tag instead. Then you can isolate...

Help with animation flicker on spinner and wheels

I've seen this when you have both the still and blurred tyre or prop parts showing at the same time. Check your visibility tags are correct.

Model not loading correctly in latest version of MCX

Yes, that's with 1.4.0.0. If your OjbectModel settings, make sure "RemoveScaling" is set to "false" edit: Sorry, didn't see the latest posts!

I just tried the MDL in the latest dev release and it shows both landing gears OK.

    Reducing aprons.

Thanks for the suggestions. I think I'll probably remake them anyway, as I can optimise them at the same time.

    Reducing aprons.

Hi all, Being mainly an aircraft modeller / tweaker, I don't normally do much with airports, but at the moment I'm trying to convert an old airport from FS9 to P3d format. The airport has over 360 aprons, so it won't compile. Is there an "easy" way to combine / convert or otherwise cheat to...

P3D v4 All control surfaces "snap" back to neutral when close to max deflection

Thanks for that, I'll try that later. I'm sure it used to work correctly, but at some point something changed. Wonder if it's the change to 64bit causing a rounding error or overflow in the compiler or maybe the sim?

P3D v4 All control surfaces "snap" back to neutral when close to max deflection

Not easily. You could write a custom xml animation tag that modifies the deflection output and use that instead, but I don't know of an easy way to alter the animation itself.

P3D v4 All control surfaces "snap" back to neutral when close to max deflection

Do not click the "Fix selected animations" box, that freezes the animation at that keyframe, and you'll loose the animation! OK, this is the method. 1: Open the model in MCX, and open the animation editor. 2: In the text box next to "Select Name Containing:" type "elevator_percent_key" then...

FS2004 What is 'Part' and 'ABS' ?

It's in the SDK. I can't remember exactly where in the FSX SDK, but in the P3d SDK it's under scripting / RPN scripting.

FS2004 What is 'Part' and 'ABS' ?

ABS = absolute value. Basically is the number without the sign, so -5 would be just 5.

P3D v4 All control surfaces "snap" back to neutral when close to max deflection

Yes, I've had this too. What I did to fix it was change the animation tags with the animation editor in MCX. If you look at the elevator for example, it will probably use "elevator_percent_key". Change it to "elevator_key" and you should be OK.

The show 'The Expanse' and a space flight simulator...

Or you can join a private group that doesn't allow player v player piracy like that, such as the Morbius group. Of course you could still get killed by AI pirates, but that could happen in solo mode as well.

They got hacked. I think the owner/admin also has some personal and/or health issues that are hindering getting the site back up.

That's a dodgy ground poly from MAIW Lakenheath. There's a replacement BGL available on their forum to fix it. https://militaryaiworks.com/forums/18/15983?start=140#p179140

    FSX:SE Can anyone explain this??

I've seen that before. If it's the same issue I had, it's to do with the format of the textures used in Gmax. They appear slightly offset in Gmax so when you line it up in there it shifts when converted for FSX. Unfortunately it was a long time ago so I can't remember which was the offending...
