• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

P3D v4 Tool to check the AI Aircrafts consistent to V4

There's this one, https://flyawaysimulation.com/downloads/files/18876/fsx-model-scanner/ Generates a list of which models were compiled with different SDKs. Doesn't recognise P3d native, they show as unknown, but it's obvious what that are. Very useful for finding old FS9 format models.

    Thanks Doug, much appreciated.

    P3D v4 Simple Airport Scanner 1.70 Beta

Pete Dowson had a similar problem with his MakeRunways utility. I believe he got around the problem by using Lorbi-si's addon manager to create a scenery list and then MakeRunways reads that. May be worth having a read of the docs that come with MakeRunways. Of course that does rely on a 3rd...

According to this, porting from p3dv3 to p3dv4 is a no go

As I posted over at Avsim, most of the aircraft supplied with P3d are compiled with the FSX SDK and not P3d native anyway.

    Thank you Tom.

    Prepar3D v4 support

Hi Arno, here's a simple model. 4 cubes, one with just a diffuse texture applied, one with a lua script assigned, one with an extra UVW channel and detail map, and one with both script and extra UVW. I've included the .x file as well. MCX will open the .x file OK, but throws up errors when I try...

    Prepar3D v4 support

    I'll upload something this evening.

    Prepar3D v4 support

I don't know of any default objects, but I could export a simple mdl with a couple of objects with the new settings.

    Prepar3D v4 support

Thanks Arno. I've seen in the SDK that v4 mdls now support a second UV channel per object and also the ability to link a LUA script to a material. Material settings can be altered in-sim with these scripts. I don't know if MCX supports these or if they will cause problems reading a mdl that uses...

    XMLTools and P3dv4

Thanks for the info Tom. :)

    XMLTools and P3dv4

I'm assuming the excellent and very useful XMLTools will not be compatible with P3dv4. Is an updated version likely to be developed once the SDK is available?

    Flight Sim World

I managed to shoe-horn my Rapide into FSW. There are some XML errors thrown up upon loading, some of the visibility coding doesn't seem to work and the glass isn't visible but overall it seems to work quite well.

    MV-22B Osprey (Release 1.0)

Loving this model. Great stuff. :D Working on a "what if" Royal Navy paint, if anyone is interested.

    MV-22B Osprey (Release 1.0)

Yep, I've now created a couple of different saved flights, both hot and C&D, at various locations. The CTD issue seems avoidable if I wait for a bit. Guess I was just too eager! :D Great job all round guys.:)

    MV-22B Osprey (Release 1.0)

Update: It seems if I don't touch the MFD keys for half a minute or so after loading they work fine, so it may be a timing / initialization issue.

    MV-22B Osprey (Release 1.0)

Tried again and the MFD's worked fine! Shut down P3d, restarted and tried again and CTD. Event viewer shows the following under "information": Fault bucket 108638968113, type 1 Event Name: APPCRASH Response: Not available Cab Id: 0 Problem signature: P1: Prepar3D.exe P2: 3.4.18.19475 P3...

    MV-22B Osprey (Release 1.0)

If I load my default aircraft, then switch to the MV-22 the nacelles are at zero, props still, but engines are running. I can manually rotate the nacelles all the way to 90, take off, land, and rotate the nacelles back to zero. The engines are running all the time, but no prop animation. If I...

    MV-22B Osprey (Release 1.0)

Hi Maryadi, I did wonder if that was the case, it just seems odd that sometimes it will load up with the nacelles at 60 degrees and other times with them at zero. Not a problem though. My P3d is installed on it's own SSD @ E:\Prepar3d v3\

    MV-22B Osprey (Release 1.0)

Great job on the Osprey so far, but I do have a couple of issues, using P3dv3.4. on Win 10. Firstly, if I load my default flight, then change to the Osprey most times the engine nacelles are at 0 degrees (fully forward) with the engines running, but the props are stationary. (doesn't always...
