• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

3D Model Add-ons FSX P3D?

There is copyrights on those models too so better ask the creator of the model first.
If only use inside your PC I think won't be a problem .

Since this group is 3D Asset Design ->3D Objects General understood as trying to use a part of the model .
If just asking is it possible to just load and fly , just try.

What does use mean indeed. Technically FSX and P3D are very similar , so if you want to load an addon made for FSX in P3D that often just works (without some of the more recent features of P3D). Or do you mean something else with use them?

I meant simply downloading the file and trying to upload the add-on into P3D. There were couple vehicles (bmw, dodge ciper) I’m interested in driving in P3D. No intention in harming the creator’s copyrights. By recent features, I guess P3Dv6 won’t work then? What about v5 or v4? I’m glad you asked me that question.

I’m pretty new to this forum Arno, is it okay to post couple links from Flyaway webpage to this thread?

Hi,

The FSX models should also work in P3D V6, but since they do not have PBR materials they might look slightly different from models made for recent P3D versions.

Like Hiroshi said, just give it a try!
