• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airbus A350 XWB

She's looking great Frits. With this window texture looks the A350 is wearing the Airbus Batman mask:cool:
Looking forward to see the in-sim screenshots.

thanks to Friedolien for lending me his P3D!

Time to work on the specularity though :/

I know and I will use your service later onas well but Friedolien could give me feedback in European daytime hours... Sorry.

This weight reducing design could probably lead to significant savings on fuel, however passengers in the central part of the cabin shouldn't look down...

Haha yea sorry, I plan to redo the entire model and the windbox is up next :duck:

Thank you, I saw your Adelaid project and that looks fantastic!

So right now I'm in a bit of difficult area regarding the modelling: the wingbox. Although technically speaking I suppose it more then the wingbox, I mean the area between the two wings... the belly if you will. On the A350 there are a few challendes, first of all the complex geometry behing the wing (see images of the real aircraft of interested in what I mean), second there is the overlaps with the fuselage (Again see images) and lastly there is the wing root itself which I will have to figure out somehow... Right now the best option I can see is to draw it out with pen and paper through looking at images as no documents on this are available (to my knowledge at least)... :scratchch

Thanks! I cannot imagine how difficult it is to model an aircraft compared to a scenery! I once gave it a go but decided to leave it to the professionals ;)
You probably already have this, but I saw this thread a while back; http://www.airliners.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=536351&start=50
It has some great pics of the 350 under construction...

Thanks Kalong! I know about this video, I think I watched it a while back, but I will be taking some screenshots of it now that I see it again.
I think difficulty mainly was in that first split, the middle aircraft are unable to locate the one breaking before them or the one breaking after them...

yep that true. due aircraft dimension, aircraft reaction and pilot view made it difficult, unlike military aircraft was made/build that capable to do formation.

Well yes, mainly the lack of manoeuvrability and the lack of visibility on the vertical axis makes such manouvers quite tricky. Acctually, I think airbus did in fact contact Swiss Airlines for their experience flying A320s in formation with F-5s through the Alps.

Now people will wonder what I am working on right now? Well I am working on the belly structure, which is far more complex then expected (even by me...). I will report on it more tomorrow!

First of all: Happy new year everyone!

So what have I been up to? Well, like I said, I've started on the belly of the plane and although this takes time it is getting there.
Here is a quick render of what it looks like at the moment with the old excuse that it is W.I.P of course:

And forgive me for only posting a screenshot of blender, it didn't render well. But we are all developers anyway, right?
