• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airbus A350 XWB

I'll wait patiently ;)

Btw, how did you get such nice renders with Blender?

Sinply done with cycle rendering and some sinple node construction. If you want some tips, just send me a quick PM and I'll write you some stuff I do to render tomorrow ;)

I'm a newby
Is a PM the same as an conversation like the 'start a new conversation' on the inbox (on the top of the page?)

That 's okay, we all were new once ;)
Yes, a PM (personal message) is a conversation. I'll give you some tips tomorrow ;)

The FSX SDK translates without any problem to Blender2FSX. You can use the B2X manual as an aid, which clears things up more.
I stopped rendering things in Blender to preview the textures, since it's a completely different engine than FSX.

In the Texture tab of the object, add another texture slot and check-on the Influence of Specular. Check-off that one for Diffuse. That should do the job. Same story with every texture type. So you can get multiple texture slots in one material.

The teapot examples have nothing to do with what modelling program you use. It explains how the diffuse, specular, bump and alpha channels relate to each other to achieve the desired effects with your texture sheets. You will be doing this with your paint program.

Well I didn't know how to actually apply it to the model, but now Daan has explained it I think I can get it right now. Also read through the manual again (B2FSX) and it makes sense now ;)

Today I took the liverty to get cracking on something remotely "Paintkit"-like, by adding layers with stuff... no rivets yet though...

some more work is done, but there also was time to visit London's main airport for a short while. So all "passengers" had to set their watches back an hour as we landed... quite a majestic sight in my opinon, perhaps not so majestic for you guys to watch ;)
