• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Arlanda, Stockholm

It's friggin good news Voyage!! You have my support through this for sure!!

Heja! heja! hursomhelst. God fortsättning på det nya året också! =)

Hi Guys !

If needed I can help you out with high detailed building texture photos, a bit older now, but still a lot is usable I believe.
Those we took for our old ESSA Arlanda payware for FS9 (Swedflight).

F.y.i. a friend of mine is in the finishing stage making a FSX/P3D2 payware ESGG Gothenburg-Landvetter, expected to sell via SimMarket.
Release date still TBD, but somewhere in the early 2015.
I have had some fingers in this regarding the airport (airside) signs and approach/runway lights since I am an old retired IRL Flight Captain.

Best,
Bjorn

Yes, I know, I recently commented in an "old" avsim thread about that project. Nobody responded so I thought the project was "dead" so to speak. Great to hear it's still in the works, maybe this very nice freeware Arlanda AND Landvetter in the same year. Very appreciated and way over-due for the two biggest airports in Sweden, IMO. ESGG is also the airport I've flown from and to the most through the years so it's naturally my home airport even though I don't live in the area any more. You already have one customer, great stuff ahead! =)

Cheers/Andreas

Hey everyone. Björn I will write you, more footage is always good of course :)

Sorry to not have more to show than this but I will work more or less full time for 1,5 week now on this plus I got assistans now with some areas. It's a long way still, but we will get there.
A lot of untextured and not all buildings present in this one, but at least you get a bit more of a feeling how the visualisation we are working on of the airport.

And glad to hear about Landvetter!
When this is finished I will see what I will do, but clearly after putting in all this effort to learn how to do stuff for the flight simulator plattforms, it would be a waste not doing something more of course. (plus it's a great lot of fun working on this even though it seems overwhelming from time to time)

Looks really cool Voyage!! I'm so happy right now! :)

Keep em coming!

Just asking (I know it's maybe to early but doesn't hurt to ask), how is it on frames? Just want know, is it better than Aerosoft's Arlanda scenery? (because it's draining FPS..)

Early texture preview, all might change, just wanted to show this one as well. Passage between a / b pier at terminal 5 (international flights).

Thanks for the kind words!
Regarding FPS I try to work as much as possible to keep them trimmed. However if you experience problems with aerosofts version I don't know how this will work for you, I'll do my best!

Looking good.
I think fps problem is not only polygon count but the number of texture sheets that you use. The more texture sheets the more draw call. Try to use the same texture where it is possible.

I try to keep the texture volume down as well as the polygons. Hopefully that will leave more room regarding FPS in the end. I plan to add lots of extras like trucks, luggage-vans, cones etc which I think will add lots in the visual and can be set by the user depending on system.
Arlanda is an airport being built in many different stages, there are many different buildings and terminal looks, (just to mention 4 completely different looks on gates), it is hard to repeat within the terminal area ;)

Thanks for the kind words Jtanabodee by the way, really love your Bangkok, some really beautiful renderings of the terminals.

This is awesome. I have a lot of nostalgia with Arlanda because it was the first Haddon scenery I ever installed back in FS98. And I just love the layout of the airport - in many ways quite similar to Amsterdam Schiphol, my home airport. I'm still using the Aerosoft pone since there's nothing newer out there, so you bet I'll switch to this one the moment it comes out. Looking forward to it, keep the good work coming!

Thraini, I never actually thought about it being anything like Schiphol but now when you mention it i can totally see some similiraties (size is not one of them though hehe)

I just wanted to share a few more shots before going back in to silence for a while I think, I appriecete your kind words and support, now I've got some new energy to continue.
The ground is just the cleaned aerial shots that will work as a ground layer, we will add the other layers I presented earlier at the next stage. So expect more. Well expect more in every way, nothing is done, but the main buildings are soon there and in the weekend I'm moving over to making the gates for T2 and T5F and continue on T5A/B. (as you see in this picture there is no gates at T2 at the moment)

Hope you enjoy this preview and talk to you soon again,
