• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Flight Sim World

The aircraft definitely look amazing and the PBR and AccuFeel stuff adds a ton of realism I've never seen before
Maybe I'm wrong but the raindrops look like they do some actual refraction

But seriously, seeing all that beauty in front of the old edgy afcad wit the same old textures makes me wanna cry :(

well i'm optimistic, what they've done with what they had is fantastic.

as to the repeated "FSX plus" ... fs2002 was fs2000+, fs9 was fs2002+, fsx was fs9+ ....

Just a to drop a short opinion. Yes it all rather does look like FSX but, remember, a lot of what is being complained about (environments, AFCADS, terrain, autogen, etc), can all be easily changed by 3rd party developers like us.
To be honest I'd prefer if they continued working on whats under the hood (i.e, performance, physics and other cool new features that affect how things feel). We developers will continue finding ingenious ways to improve how the environment looks.

And of course, we'll need an SDK to do that... so, I'll continue observing.

I have not seen anything yet that would make me jump from P3D.

well, they modernized UI ;) same path as XP11.

Drops on windscreen is something that could be done in P3D v2+ as well by applying shaders on the windows textures.

What I will be looking closely at is the water animation at any altitude. This must be part of the engine and is not a rocket science.

It was... cool... but later that night we saw this:

It's 2017 guys... we need better graphics than that..

It looks like early access to FSW will be on May 18. No word on any type of SDK release.

Nope, sorry. The only that StarCitizen is good for is endless amusement about the devs and especially the community.
Can't argue wit that.
Sorry for the Off-Topic guys :) I liked what we saw yesterday but... it's more or less the same. Let's see how things goes in Early Access

That is yet to be seen. I've read on some of the licensing plans, and they do not appear to be developer friendly.

With P3D 64 bits round the corner and Dtg (nonsense Eulas or rules to deal) + Sdk already available is not a brainer really which way to go.

What sdk? DTG have not said when any sdk will be released. Nor have any rules or conditions been disclosed yet.
