• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

I recently contacted Abacus to ask when FSDS 3.5 will be available:

Abacus reply:

They have a beta version that they are testing right now, but as far as a date as to when the program
will be available to the public, they have not released a date as of yet.

Keep posted to www.abacuspub.com for any news.

Best regards,
Sharon

I guess you will have to get part of the betateam inorder to get this looongawaited update!

Hi Kjartan

Yea i gues so :) I just have to wait until it is ready I gues. Hope it will be soon because Vagar is ready to be converted to FSX but still no FSDS 3.5.

I hope it will be in this week or the next :D

I mentioned this in a post about FSDS in another thread. I'm interested in going from version 2 to 3, but I feel I may as well wait until the upgrade for 3 is released and do both at more or less the same time.

I brought up the prospect that Abacus may be holding off releasing the upgrade until the promised performance patch(not the DX10 patch) from Aces has been evaluated. But if this is indeed the case, why wouldn't Abacus tell you so when responding to your inquiry? I guess we wait.

Hi Barney

Yea I gues we wait, but it would be good with a FSDS 3.5 soon. Hope this will be a reality sooner than later. :banghead:

The upgrade is in betastage right now so that is unlikely. I think they should give us some answers on the estimated releasedate though...

This still stands on their website:
"The revised release schedule for this update has been moved back to late December or early January."

Hi Kjartan

I think if I have to wait very long yet for the update from Abacus. I will consider converting the FSDS project to a gmax project and continue from there. But I will give them a chance since I like FSDS better. And it is vierd that Abacus does not update the release date as it has already failed to deliver FSDS 3.5 for December or early January. :censored:

Your are right, they could at least let us know some more, like if it will be soon or in the next decade or so :(

Keep the faith. There are still some problems to be worked out, otherwise it would have been released by now.

Is your scenery animated in any way?

Hi Felix

Yeas my scenery has two animations, one for a car and one for a flag.
Yea I will have to hold to te faith :)

Here is the lates respond by Abacus to me:

RE: FSDS 3.5 - Hi Abacus.I know I have asked this question before. But this question requires a respond
for my development of a FSX product.I know the program FSDS 3.5 is still in beta state. However it says
the revised release schedule for this update has been moved back to late December or early
January. We are now in February 16 and I would like to hear how things are going.Like customer and a
user of a super program named FSDS, I would be happy to know more about the progress as all my
products are made with FSDS 3.0

I wait for the update so I can start making FSX products with the
program I love, but I am considering alternatives, but hope to get a good answer.I know this takes
time, but don't you think owners of FSDS 3.0 deserve to know a little more about the progress, they
don't know if they should wait or not? This is not a tread but a kind request as I really love this program
and need it for my creation of FSX products.

Kind Regards.

Simon

Our reply:

Hi Simon,
The reason we have not updated the date on the site is becasue we are not sure when it will be ready.
More progress is being made veryday. I'll check with the webguy and see if we can't get a new date for
it though to provide an estimate

---------------------------

Things are looking better now, clearly with a estimate time, I would know more.
