• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

Parse complete!

Can't copy BGL file into the destination folder:
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\BGL Compiler SDK\Christchurch Intl NZCH.BGL (The system cannot find the file specified)

so if you can, plz tell me what needs to be done to get this scenery working.

Regards

It looks like you have two runway 02s. Perhaps you could post the xml file as an attachment?

-Russell

Here's the XML, its really annoying me cause i've put a bit of work into it :)

Ok, I've taken a look at the airport and the problem is that you have two ILS beams for each end of the runway. They are actually located right on top of each other so it's a bit hard to tell. But if you click and drag on one of the ILS beams, you will see that there is another right below it.

You can't have two ILS beams for the same end of the runway using the same ident and frequency. If you change one of the beam's ident and frequency to a different one then it all works fine.

-Russell

YOU GENIUS!!!!

I deleted the extra ILS beam at each end of the runway and it worked!!!

thanks heaps for helping me out with that, YOU ROCK!!!

THANKS HEAPS

I got a bug(i think) for you to look at: at christchurch international (NZCH) FSX-P doesnt show some of the taxiway signs- well i've deleted them but there still there in FSX, and there is a wind sock along runway 11 and it doesnt show up in FSX-P but it's there in the game and it's obstructing one of my taxiways but i cant delete it(i do have it set to show me the windsocks too).

Chappy

Im looking at my scenery and for every taxiway sign(in FSX) theres two of them but im looking at FSX-Planner and there's only one of that taxiway sign. also some taxiway signs aren't showing up in FSX-P, that are actually in FSX.

You need to use an exclusion rectangle to get rid of the taxiway signs. Otherwise you'll get the double taxiway sign issue you are seeing. Just create an exclusion rectangle that covers then entire airport and set it to exclude only taxiway signs.

Alternatively if youi don't need to make any changes to the taxiway signs, then you don't need an exclusion rectangle, but you would have to untick the write taxiway signs checkbox under the Prepare Options dialog.

Not all windsocks are contained within the airport bgl file. So it could be the windsock that you are seeing is contained in another bgl file, and therefore FSX Planner isn't displaying it. You should be able to remove windsocks by creating an exclusion rectangle over the area where you think the windsock is - it's a bit difficult if you can't see it in FSX Planner, but just make it overly big - and then set it to exclude only windsocks.

-Russell

I did that and it worked, thanks. im going to play around with it a bit and fix it up. i'll post if i need more help.

Thanks

Chappy

Hey dudes, when i use the Exclusion rectangles the scenery never shows up in FSX. Wat can i do to fix it?

Chappy

It's okay i tried again and the scenery worked. dunno why it didnt earlier.

I've got something u can add to the next FSX-P: when your 'labeling' a runway e.g 02L, make it so you can call the runway 02 Grass, instead of runway 02L.

Thanks

Chappy

I just checked the scenery and i've used exclusion rectangles set to exclude only taxiways and theres still duplicate taxiway-signs next to/on the taxiway, how can i stop this?

Where would you want the runway this to be labeled in this way?

Do you have duplicate taxiways everywhere, or in just some locations?

-Russell

Everywhere i have moved a taxiway sign in FSX-P it has been duplicated(there is a sign in its original position and then theres a sign in the position i moved it to).

With the 02Grass thing at NZCH(Christchurch int'l) in real life they use the Grass runway 02 for the canterbury aero club aircraft(General Aviation) and they dont call it 02Left, they call it 02Grass so that why i thought you could add that, so people had that option.

Also, because in FSX-P you can only make a runway secondary or primary for take-off or landing, is it possible for you to make it so i could choose the option for only a Cessna 172 to use the runway 02 Grass?- because it's too small to be a secondary runway but u could use a Cessna on it.

Thanks

I'mstill having the problem with the duplicate taxiway-signs: i have moved the original ones in FSX-Planner, in FSX the original taxiway-signs appear aswell as the taxiway-sign i have moved. I have tried an exclusion rectangle with 'Remove Taxiway-signs' ticked(i also had ' remove all windsocks' ticked too).

wat can i do to prevent this from happening, because with this happening i cant make scenery for FSX.

Chappy

Can you post the xml?

Also, regarding your Grass runway option, unfortunately FSX doesn't provide for that. You can do north, south, east, west, right, left and center as options.

-Russell

Thanks for trying the 'Grass' option for me.

Here's the XML:

Is there a FSX tool for Editing airport scenery?e.g in FSX,NZCH airport could do with a better terminal building etc.

Thanks
