Hello, as it's my first post here, I'd like to provide a little background about myself.
I'm primarily a software/games developer, but when I need to do modelling, I work within Blender version 4.4. I've been studying 2020 models as a reference for my work, so the quality of the import greatly affects how much I'm able to learn from them. Previously, I used ModelConverterX's glTF export tool to facilitate this, but I've been growing increasingly frustrated with it. There are far too many issues, and with it being proprietary software, attempting to fix them myself is not an option.
I tried to look for some different tooling for importing MSFS 2020 models (with the MSFS glTF extensions Blender doesn't natively support) directly into Blender. The only script I found was very outdated, so I've updated it to work in 4.4+.
I've uploaded my refactored version of the script --> here <--. The original texture conversion functionality has remained intact. This should prove useful to anyone using a current version of Blender.
p.s. All I've done is refactor it to support the newer API. As such, there may still be issues present from the previous version.
