• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

What Irritates you about ADE?

Thank you all very much. I understand that it is an old file but the scenery runs in FS9 almost perfectly - and it is a very well designed scenery too!
The only problems are the parking spots and I wonder if there is a workaround?

For example, would it be possible to create a new scenery layer with ADE which could be placed over the original? This layer would contain only new parking spots and some links.
I think I deleted AFW a long time ago but I will see if I can find a copy somewhere. That might be the easiest solution if I can find the program.

Hi,

Yes, this is very possible. If a default airport is already included in the sim, just modify the Stock Airport and place the resulting compiled BGL file in the same folder as the rest of your addon airport. I think that the FS2002 objects will cover most of the ADE taxiways, etc., so you should be able to hide the ADE runway under yours and then convert the taxiways to apron paths. The uneeded aprons can be deleted. If not a stock airport, then create a new one in ADE.

There are a hundred SCASM models in LSGS.bgl. You could use MCX to save them as FS9 models, use LibraryCreatorXML to create a library then use Instant Scenery or ADE to position them on the default airport.

The LSGS.bgl doesn't open with MCX. Not with BglAnalyze3.1 either, or AFW 2.60. Stubborn little thing, ain't it?

I'm going to make a second airport layer on top of the FS2002 one as per Tom Gibson's post. It remains to be seen how that works out. If successful I'll post a new thread.

Thanks again to all.

My development machine is XP and I use the latest development release of MCX.

I'll try it on W7.

Yes, it works fine on W7:

Of course I don't have the textures so MCX doesn't display corectly.

That's very strange.
There must be something missing on my set up - it's a long time since I used these utilities. I did install new copies of both BglA and MCX - the 1.30 version. I'll try again with the 1.4.
I can't explain the BglA problem but I don't wish to hijack the thread any further - we've come a long way since the OP! Thanks again.

Just for the sake of completion, I eventually managed to run BglAnalyze and to read the .sca file.
ModelConverterX 1.4 ran LSGS.bgl successfully and produced an image and info.
Not having used MCX before I have a lot of reading to do!
