• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

FSXA Airbus A350 XWB

Ground crew have been careless too, some blighter has dented the cabin roof. I like how the open doors sit against the hull and the little details. Keep going!

Oops... You're right... Thanks for the notice!
I don't know if the doors are rightly placed. Meaning I don't know if they should be so close to the hull...

Thank you! but I don't think I need help at this stage ;)

The amount of detail at the nose gear cover holders is too much in my opinion and a threat to fps.
I recommend to put such details in the texture.

I'm willing to discuss on the topic of FPS vs details... In this case I referenced to other addons (my favorite addons to be precise) and found that what you're discribing is indeed commen, those it is goodby for most vertexis in those gear cover holders... Also to get back on the wheel thread topix... I've decided to do that with textures aswell... seems like most developers of addons are and I obviously try to resemble them as mush as possible ;)

Yeah that's how I meant this.;)
I hope you did not delete the high poly one though as it can be used to bake high quality textures.

No unfortunately I don't however I've seen that the detailing isn't verry necersarry... I looked at some addons and none of them have detailed gear cover holder.

Have you started animating the gear? It's a good idea to work the animation process while modelling the parts to see how they will work together. I see now that you will need to do some more work on the nose gear for the steering to work properly.

I've not yet started animations... I think I'll be animatin soon though.... I was going to start doing that while a repainter (with whom I'm currently talking through about what to do) is working on a livery or two.... But could you please tell me what you noticed on the front gear?

You have the steering mechanism attached to the shock tube but I don't see a rotation collar that will allow the drag links to rotate.

You would have eventually figured it out that's why it good practice to start your test animation early in the modelling stage and save yourself a lot of rework later.

Thanks man, a simple moving operation fixed it, now all she needs is two plates (they seem to have no name is the airbus drawings):

But perhaps it's a good idea to see what some animations do at this point...

Actually I'm curious who'll guess what this part is (while keeping in mind that the cylinders are springs) ;)

EDIT: I guess that it is a bit too difficult... So here's the awnser, it is the Forward Side Stay of the Rear Landing Gear:

I personally think it looks better then the primitive one I had before...
Also you can see some parts are still missing, those are in the making.

Finally, I'm glad to see such an amazing work on the A350!
I'm really looking forward to it.

If you think you ever need beta-testers, please count me in.
I've also been in Airbus X Extended betas.
