• Which the release of FS2020 we see an explosition of activity on the forun and of course we are very happy to see this. But having all questions about FS2020 in one forum becomes a bit messy. So therefore we would like to ask you all to use the following guidelines when posting your questions:

    • Tag FS2020 specific questions with the MSFS2020 tag.
    • Questions about making 3D assets can be posted in the 3D asset design forum. Either post them in the subforum of the modelling tool you use or in the general forum if they are general.
    • Questions about aircraft design can be posted in the Aircraft design forum
    • Questions about airport design can be posted in the FS2020 airport design forum. Once airport development tools have been updated for FS2020 you can post tool speciifc questions in the subforums of those tools as well of course.
    • Questions about terrain design can be posted in the FS2020 terrain design forum.
    • Questions about SimConnect can be posted in the SimConnect forum.

Any other question that is not specific to an aspect of development or tool can be posted in the General chat forum.

By following these guidelines we make sure that the forums remain easy to read for everybody and also that the right people can find your post to answer it.

MV-22B Osprey

Kalong, nothing to worry about. I have no doubt your model will be a hit. Even if you leave it as is in the beta, it's already incredible as it is.

Adding VRS will add an unparallel level of realism, as it was the #1 cause of crash during the early days of the V-22, it was just an unknown condition that took years to understand. It affects new tilt rotors as well.

Adding to your comment, there really is no difference between turboprop and turboshaft in real life, it's only pure Engine Manufacturer marketing. Both TS and TP have engine powershafts that drive gearboxes. In a Turboprop the thrust just happens to match the engine axis of rotation, on a Turboshaft it may or may not.

I assume you have the 2006 NATOPS manual then? :-) Lot's of good information in there.

Basically, VRS is allready in the beta ....
Just hover in the air (nacelles > 83 degrees and airspeed < 30 knots) and pull back the TCL.
Observe what happens if the descent rate gets below -1200 ft/min ....

Cheers, Rob

What is 'VRS'? There are over a hundred definitions of that acronym on the web - none of which are relevant!

VRS: Vortex Ring State
This Youtube video explains it quite good (see 1:13 onwards)

Thanks,Rob. Very vivid! Though the name 'Vortex Ring State' hardly expresses its severity.
Certainly something to avoid, especially in real life... Am I right to conclude that a descent in a helicopter (or the MV-22) should always include forward velocity, to avoid entering your own vortex?
Can it be simulated in FSX/P3D?

HI Freded,

I'm no expert, but from what I understand about VRS a vertical descent is possible but the rate of descent must be limited. According to notes in the above posts it must be less than 1200 ft/min, although a much lower rate would probably be desired. In general a vertical descent should be limited anyway as it would most likely be close to the ground to start with, and vision below the rotorcraft would obviously be limited.

Cheers,

Many upgrade to be made this weekend
- Rotor pitch
- clickspot issue
- on/off screen display (thank to Naruto-kun)
- battery gauge display
- change display procedure
- upgrade ILS bar
- conversion corridor limit
- test flight new contigous nacelles control (feel smoother and adjustable). can land in small tail wind
- trying xml gauge camera (work in progress)

busy weekend

Screenshoot ILS

Nice work Maryadi.

I forgot to mention earlier, the click spots on the APU switch did end up working, but they only work with the rotary switch on the mouse.

Cheers,

Cheers,

I forgot to mention, all click spot work only for left mouse click (button) and mouse wheel (lever, knob).
I want to use right mouse click but "hand" symbol are the same, so it would make confuse to user which mouse click to be use.

Came across this build and I must say, I am looking forward to this release. From what I've seen you've done a great job. I don't have the creative skills or patience to create anything on this scale yet always wanted a more realistic (as much as is allowable under the flight sim capabilities) and more accurate interior than what is available.

Look forward to the release. Keep up the great work

That's it I'm sold!!! Even if nothing else works but the lights on the propeller do is all I want...LOL!!! Ofcource I'm being a little exagerated!!! I want all the plane to work but seen the lights on the propellers is something that I was hoping it could be added!!! Nice work and keep it up!!! I think I said it before "My Wallet is Ready"!!! Forgot to mention that the pictures I'v seen of the propeller lights on the MV22 tend to be green I might be wrong but I'll keep checking more pictures!!

more accurate interior have to pay with decrease framerate. in VC cockpit you will got framerate lower than external view. because VC have to render dll gauge, xml gauge and more detail model.

yes, the green light was not bright enough. maybe I re-think how it work.

For Donation, I'd like to accept that. but I don't know about international transaction.

Update

now map.xml working together with dll, increase working PFD/MFD button

FS9/FSX Camera gauge not working on VC, even worse, eat framerate till half I have (when use as 2D gauge). pic below. corner = camera down, dark blue = camera applying in VC, include on second gauge. to test block / unblock by model.

I'm already enjoying what you have already accomplished. Light years ahead of anything offered by any other Sim producer. As far as donation goes, I'm all in. Don't rule out international transactions; just look at Dino Cattaneo's F-35 which started out much like yours. Now offered on many major sim websites. Just using Rob's gauges/script to give a more realistic flight profile along with your interior/exterior work; working MFD's more than enough for me to purchase.

I've always enjoyed the MV-22 and realize that producing a working flight model within the FSX/Prepar3d must be extremely difficult; so my hat is off to you.

I have bookmarked this topic and await any updates you have as this is, for me, exciting news.

Curious; just a thought, but understand if it can't happen. Have you considered adding the retractable refueling boom along with aerial refueling? I think Tac-Pack added a decent interface for such an endeavor. Having spent just a few years working with/around the MV-22, I can say that in the Pacific theater, aerial refueling along with the 3 internal fuel tanks is a game changer. We routinely flew non-stop from Okinawa to the Philippines; in 3 hours. Something the CH-46 could never do without HUGE logistical challenges.

as always, impressed with your work and look forward to any release; freeware or payware and will gladly donate or pay.:) Keep up the great work.

The only thing I don't like on this project is the blurry (I guess default?) backup ADI in the center of the main panel. Everything else looks so superb it makes it look even worse ;)

I can't agree more with this. Keep it up mate, and if you need a showcase video, just say so :P

will thinking about Dino Cattaneo do.

aerial refueling capability.
I already prepared for 3 internal tanks. haven't modeled yet for aerial refueling. I don't know yet about MV-22B aerial refueling procedure. so still thinking of working process, slowly will get this step. I will included on my to do list.

Tack-Pack
I know nothing yet about Tack-Pack, as I know it was payware software.

yes, you are right, that ADI was FSX default KingAir gauge. I have 2 kind of image source, one just like you see on my picture above and the other one is digital backup. Digital backup I think it from MV-22B Japanese of defense have.
I already have a plan to change it.

I will contact you when I need a video for my first release.
